# Little Hair Diary privacy policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026.

Little Hair Diary is developed by Flavio Thomi. For privacy questions, contact [support@flaviothomi.com](mailto:support@flaviothomi.com?body=Hi%20Flavio%0A%0A).

## Your diary

The app stores the moments you choose to save, including photos, dates, notes, ratings, products, activities, drying methods, hair and scalp observations, length measurements, and optional weather readings. It also stores reusable items, unfinished moment drafts, saved colors, and settings needed to run the app.

Your diary saves locally on your device. There is no Little Hair Diary account, advertising SDK, or third-party analytics SDK. The developer does not receive your diary through an app-operated server and does not sell your personal data or use it for advertising or tracking.

## iCloud

When iCloud is available for the app, Apple's SwiftData and CloudKit services synchronize your library through your private iCloud account. This includes saved moments and photos, reusable items, unfinished moment drafts, saved colors, and records needed to apply deletions consistently. The app does not ask for your Apple Account password.

Apple processes iCloud data under its own terms and [privacy policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). Availability and timing depend on your Apple settings and network connection. You can manage iCloud access in your device's Settings.

## Photos and optional image tools

You decide which photos to add using the system photo picker or camera. The app requests camera access when you take a photo and permission to add to Photos when you choose to save an image there. It does not upload your entire photo library.

Optional hairstyle generation uses Apple's system image-generation interface on supported devices. When you explicitly start that feature, the app supplies your chosen source photo, a bundled hairstyle reference, and the hairstyle instructions to the system interface. Your diary notes and unrelated photos are not supplied. The selected Apple service or provider may process images in the cloud; its system notices, choices, and privacy terms apply. This feature is not required to keep a diary. Hair-color previews use an on-device model.

Unsaved look results are temporary and are discarded when you close the studio session or the app ends. Looks you choose to save become part of your library.

## Optional local weather

Weather is off by default. If you enable it and allow location access, the app obtains an approximate location while you use it, rounds its coordinates to two decimal places, and requests weather directly from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, MET Norway. The request contains those coordinates, an app-identifying header, and the network IP address visible to the service. It does not include your diary photos, notes, name, or an app account identifier.

MET Norway says its API logs include IP addresses and requested coordinates and are held in Oslo, Norway. Its privacy policy describes IP retention of up to 90 days for meteorological services without login. See [MET Norway's API terms](https://api.met.no/doc/TermsOfService) and [privacy policy](https://www.met.no/en/About-us/privacy) for its processing, retention, and contact details.

Little Hair Diary does not store the coordinates or a place name with your moment. It stores only the weather readings you save. Temporary weather responses are cached in memory. Turning weather off stops future requests and clears that cache. Previously saved weather stays with a moment until you remove it by editing or deleting the moment.

## Reminders and permissions

Reminders are optional local notifications scheduled on your device. You can change or disable them in the app and revoke notification permission in device Settings. You can also revoke camera, photo-saving, and location permissions in device Settings. Revoking a permission stops future access but does not delete content you already saved.

## Keeping and deleting data

Saved content remains in your library until you delete it. You can edit or delete individual moments and reusable items. To clear the library, open Settings and choose **Delete all my data**. This also clears unfinished moments and saved colors. When iCloud synchronization is available, library deletion changes are synchronized by Apple; delivery is not necessarily immediate on other devices.

Small deletion records remain so that old content does not return from a device that was offline. Device backups and copies you saved outside the app, such as images in Photos, are managed separately. Removing the app alone does not necessarily remove iCloud or backup copies. Manage those copies through Apple's settings and services.

## Contacting support

If you email support, the developer receives your email address and anything you choose to send. That information is used to answer your request and resolve the issue, not for marketing. Do not include private diary photos or sensitive notes unless they are necessary and you want to share them. Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and any applicable recordkeeping obligations.

## Your choices and rights

You can change optional permissions, edit your content, and delete your library as described above. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal data held about you, or to object to processing. Contact [support@flaviothomi.com](mailto:support@flaviothomi.com?body=Hi%20Flavio%0A%0A) about data held by the developer. The developer cannot retrieve your private diary from an app-operated server. For data handled by Apple or MET Norway, use the contacts and controls in their policies. You may contact your local data-protection authority with a complaint.

## Changes to this policy

This page will be updated when the app's data practices change. The date above identifies the latest version.
