LZFSE Archiver Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 August 2026
This policy explains how LZFSE Archiver handles information on iPhone and Mac. The app does not require an account, contains no advertising, and includes no third-party analytics or tracking SDK.
Developer and contact
The app is provided by Flavio Thomi. Privacy questions can be sent to support@flaviothomi.com.
Selected files and local processing
LZFSE Archiver accesses only source files and destination folders selected by the user through Apple's file interfaces. It reads the source bytes and compresses or decompresses them locally with Apple's Compression framework. File names, contents, sizes, and output are not uploaded to the developer or to an app server.
On iPhone, temporary output can be created in the app's local temporary directory before the user saves or shares it. On Mac, output is written to the selected destination folder.
Folder access on Mac
To reuse a destination folder selected by the user, the Mac app stores Apple's security-scoped bookmark data in local preferences. A bookmark identifies the authorized folder and allows the sandboxed app to request access again. It is not transmitted to the developer.
Analytics, advertising, and diagnostics
LZFSE Archiver does not track people across apps or websites, use an advertising identifier, sell data, or operate an analytics service. Diagnostic information is available to the developer only if a user elects to share Apple diagnostics or crash reports. Apple handles its services under the Apple Privacy Policy.
Data retention and deletion
Source and destination files remain in the locations selected by the user and can be removed with Files or Finder. Clearing completed operations removes temporary in-app output where applicable. Removing LZFSE Archiver deletes its remaining local temporary files, preferences, and stored folder bookmarks; it does not delete files already saved elsewhere.
Website and support
When this page is opened or support is contacted, the separate flaviothomi.com Website Privacy Notice applies. It explains static website delivery through Cloudflare and the handling of support email through Apple iCloud Mail.
Changes
This policy will be updated if the app's data practices change. The current version will remain available at this URL.
